Boston Scientific identified a cybersecurity incident August 25 causing a global network disruption. Per its 8-K, the incident has caused, and is expected to continue to cause, an inability to process and ship customer orders; a full restoration timeline has not been given. Cork, Ireland manufacturing workers were sent home. As of September 2 (NHS Supply Chain), automated ordering, picking, packing, and shipping remain unavailable and EDI orders are queued. Newly implanted cardiac monitors cannot activate remote monitoring. Piper Sandler estimates under three weeks to resume shipping. This follows Boston Scientific's July to August recalls of cardiac ablation devices.
