Atlas Choice Disposable Non-Stick Bipolar Forceps, product code BIP-ATMI-08-IR: a 9 in, irrigating single-use micro bipolar forceps with 1.0 mm solid silver precision tips, low-profile slim tines and a stainless steel body from American Surgical Company. The solid silver tips act as a heat sink that conveys heat away from the tips, reducing thermal spread to surrounding tissue, minimizing charring and preventing tissue adhesion during coagulation, which protects delicate neural and vascular structures. Solid silver gives higher conductivity than silver plated tips, so less generator power is needed. In a comparative study at 35 Malis units with controlled 3-second activations, the forceps showed less thermal injury depth and area than other leading forceps. This is the irrigation version of the forceps. Supplied sterile for single use.
