Published rates, averaged
Distance and zone
Distance runs between ZIP code centers, with a road factor added for highway miles. Parcel zones come from the same distance, the way carriers set them.
Parcel and LTL
Parcel uses billable weight, the greater of actual weight or length x width x height divided by 139, with fuel, residential, and handling surcharges. LTL uses freight class, distance, minimum charges, fuel, and the delivery services you pick.
Truckload
Six or more pallets, or more than 12,000 lb, also price as a dry van truckload at current per-mile market rates. You see LTL and truckload side by side when both apply.
Estimates leave out delivery area surcharges, reweigh or reclass adjustments, detention, and storage. Hazmat, temperature control, Alaska, Hawaii, and Puerto Rico are quoted directly. Rates are benchmarks for budgeting, not carrier tariffs or a Keystone offer.
