Ritmed Neurological Sponges (X-Ray Detectable) are made with medical grade biodegradable rayon that absorbs 5 times its weight in less than one minute and maintains its integrity when wet, with less linting than comparable cotton products. They are used to moisten or absorb biological fluid during neurological surgery and may also be used to protect the brain during incision. The soft non-woven fabric is 35% polyester and 65% viscose with a polyester string and a barium sulfate x-ray element. Item 55992C is the non-sterile 1/2 in x 1/2 in size, single strung (fused) on a count card, packed 10 sponges per count card, 1 count card per glassine, 10 glassines per case, 100 sponges per case.
