The semi-automatic spring safety is activated while the needle is still in the vein; the needle retracts and is irreversibly enclosed in the safety shield, and an audible click confirms activation.
A viewing window confirms venipuncture, and the wing design gives a secure grip for single-handed use. Greiner also indicates the set for short-term infusion of up to 4 hours.
